Wally Nowak

Wally is a retired high school teacher who spends his time between his summer place in Southern Ontario and his winter haunt a tiny flat in Port Moody , British Columbia, Canada. Summers are spent looking after his small acreage while Pat ,spouse and CEO, looks after her flower garden and picks bouquets of wildflowers from the meadow. Evenings are usually occupied by taking their fly rods to the local streams and ponds.

Winter in BC is time spent chasing the salmonids of the West Coast waters. And tying flies for the next season.

Wally has been tying flies since Pat bought his fly fishing outfit in 1969 and has been instructing fly tying since the early 1970’s. He has donated showcase classic flies for fund raisers for Trout Unlimited and Spey and Dee patterns for the Steelhead Society and for the North Atlantic Salmon Fund. His passions include his fly tackle, a cedar strip canoe, his tying desk and most of all, his two fishing companions, Pat and son Trevor.
