Pattern information

As with all Hare's Ears, don't try to make this one "pretty." The shagginess of the hare's hairs are (within proper proportions) what makes this fly sparkle and shine underwater.

This might be my favourite Cutthroat nymph yet! It is a marriage of two old classics – the Iron Blue Dun and the Hare's Ear! For some reason the trout of the Mad River just love anything red, and I needed something medium colored and wet. They approved of my concoction. I have found it to be quite good in stillwater where Callibaetis nymphs are about, particularly on Cutthroat. Try it when you need a dark dun fly with some visibility to the Trout!
