Gate Crasher (Variation)

Fly: Tim Didas, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Any streamer #4-14
Thread: Black Uni 8/0
Tail: Golden pheasant tippets, dyed red
Body: Copper Uni mylar
Body: Top to bottom, Purple, red, and orange calf tail (bucktail or marabou also work well.)
Throat: White schlappen
Head/eyes: Finish as per the "Mr. Bill."

Notes:

I've also seen this pattern tied with an orange schlappen throat.

A very nice pattern originated by Mike Martinek. I have taken the liberty of adding the dyed golden pheasant tippet tail. See Mike's original pattern and comments in his "Streamer Fly Patterns for Trolling and Casting." I have found this to be a very effective lake fly during the fall, and also for winter steelhead.
