Pierre Mouchel

I was born in 1941 and raised by the seashore, where fishing with bait and lures for mackerel, pollock and seabass was a good pastime… Then spearfishing took most of my fishing activities.

Working with an international tires company, I had the chance to go for a few years to Ireland, where I started flyfishing for trout, to Nova Scotia in Canada where I learned flytying and fished for brook trout and salmon and the Carolinas in the USA where tailwater flyfishing was great for rainbow and brown trout. Back to France, I found the brown trout in the local rivers were very much willing to take my Irish/American flies.

In 2000, to be an active part of the Internet, I started the website pechetruite.com and with retirement created a small Company to sell flies, Cul de Canard and flytying supplies on the web.

To get the CDC, I go to the locals duck farms and pluck, wash and dye the feathers. Selling the feathers put me in contact with customers all over the world.

Having plenty of feathers to play with, one day, tired of tying polystyrene beads for suspenders, I tried the Cul de Canard oiler puff tied upside down and created this serie of puffball flies!
