Snowshoe Bubble Emerger, grey

Fly: Martin Westbeek, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: TMC 102Y, #17
Thread: TMC 16/0 grey
Tail: pheasant tail
Abdomen: pheasant tail
Thorax/wing: Snowshoe Hare, dark dun

Note: The Bubble Emerger is originally a CDC fly. The CDC hackle is placed at about the mid point of the fly, and hackled, after which the fibres are pulled forward. On this pattern I tied Snowshoe arond the hook (tips towards the bend of the hook), pulled the hair forward, released the tension to create a hollow "bubble", made 3 tight thread wraps around the hook, posted the wing and finished with some wraps in front of the wing and a whip finish.
