Originator: Gerhard Laible, Fly: Marcus Ruoff, Photographs: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Tiemco 2302 (sizes 10-18)
Thread: colour of choice, I prefer either anthracite, olive or a nice deep orange
Body: CDC feather twisted and wound on or dubbing in dubbing loop (in this case grey hare's ear)
Thorax: ball of dubbing in orange or other intensive colour
Wing/legs: brown Partridge with naturally coloured CDC in a loop
Indicator post: Laible flash wing
Tying notes:
A superb fly by one of the worlds best and most innovative CDC flytiers: Gerhard Laible from Germany. In Central Europe Mr Laible's creations are very famous, well known and widely used (not least because they are super-effective, super-nice, very durable and float well). A great influence for a great many flytiers, myself included.

This one is a caddis emerger pattern with a signal thorax in orange. Floats very well due to a high CDC content in the fly but still retains a low and slim profile. Can be fished anytime.
