Quill and Deer Hair Spent

Fly: Marcus Ruoff, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Tiemco 100BL or 102Y (sizes 12-18 (100BL) or 13-19 (102Y))
Thread: colour of choice, I prefer either anthracite, olive or brown depending on the colour of the quill
Tail: Coq de Leon fibers
Body: Quill in colour of choice
Visual indicator: Laible flash wing, Antron or similar material (for added visibility and to make the fly really ugly use orange or pink)
Wing: Deer hair
Wing divider: Hare's ear (or any other preferred dubbing) X'ed around deer hair to split it up in two equal halves.
Hackle: saddle or microbarb hackle tied parachute style around wing
Note:
Probably invented already a hundred times before me, a durable spent pattern that uses „the best from field and farm“ namely Coq de Leon, Quills, Hares Ear dubbing and deer hair! Good visible spent pattern. Again you can see that I place a high emphasis on the visibility of my flies.
