CDC Female Caddis (side)
CDC Female Caddis (top)
CDC Female Caddis (bottom)
Originator: Karl-Heinz Kaulig, Fly: Marcus Ruoff, Photographs: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Tiemco 2487, 2488 or similar light wire scud pattern (sizes 10-16)
Thread: colour of choice, I prefer either anthracite, olive or a nice deep orange
Butt (optional): CDC yellow or orange
Wing divider: Two CDC feathers, tied in by the tip
Wing: Deer hair
Hackle: CDC fibers, trapped in dubbing loop, spun before wrapping
Antennae (optional): Feather stems from the wing divider CDC feathers. Striped using a permanent marker.
Tying notes:
My version of Karl-Heinz Kaulig's pattern. I simplified the pattern by leaving out the antennae which make the whole tying process somewhat awkward in smaller sizes. Excellent pattern for those evening caddis rises
