Frammus Comet

Fly: Loren Williams, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Mustad 90240
Thread: Hot Pink
Eyes: Silver Bead-Chain
Tail: Chartreuse Flash
Body: Hot Pink estaz
Hackle: Chartreuse Chinese Rooster

Note: It is doubtful that the type of material used for the tail is important as long is it is active and flashy. I prefer Wing ‘n’ Flash or something similar. For the type of fishing I do for salmon (deep-ish runs and pocket water), I feel it is important to show the fish a large and aggressive fly. However, regulations limit the hook size to that of a ½” gap. Therefore, tails become important to boost the profile and add aggravating action.
