Heptagenia Sulphurea

Fly: Lars Christian Benten, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: TMC 103BL # 11
Thread: Yellow UNI 8/0
Tail: Yellow or cream hackle fibers
Body: Flyrite # 9 Golden Yellow
Wing: Yellow poly yarn, single post
Hackle: Yellow or cream cock hackle (genetic), tied parachute
Note: One of the hatches that produces the best fishing through the season is the Sulphurea. Many anglers claim that fish don’t like them, but that’s not true. If you fish rivers in Denmark in May or June, this fly is essential. Tying as for normal parachute.
