Baetis Rhodani

Fly: Lars Christian Benten, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: TMC 103 # 13
Thread: Tan UNI 8/0
Tail: Dark Dun cock hackle fibers
Body: Flyrite dubbing # 42
Wing: Brown poly yarn, single post
Hackle: Dark Dun Cock-hackle (genetic), tied parachute
Note: This is perhaps one of the most important dryflies if you ever are to fish in Denmark. The Rhodani hatches from late March in sparse number, peaking in late April and the hatch continues through the summer and a 2nd generation (smaller though, tie the same fly on a # 15 hook instead) hatch in the autumn, September and October. I fish it usually on a 0,13mm tippet. Tying as for normal parachute.
