Gold Buccaneer (Rabbit Collar Version)

Hook: Standard saltwater #2 - #1/0 (samples: Tiemco TMC 811s, Daiichi 2546, Mustad 3407, I also use the Tiemco TMC 8089)
Thread: Yellow #3/0 waxed monochord, or Flymaster Plus
Antennae/Tail: Tan bucktail, 2 hook lengths
Tail and optics overwrap: Flr. Yellow floss
Optics/weight: Large barbell or bead chain, place behind tail at mid-shank position
Optional body: Lite Brite yellow flash, use with dubbing loop
Wing: Layered, gold Flashabou and peacock Krystal Flash, length should match tips of bucktail
Collar: Crosscut rabbit strip, Gold Variant
Head: Tying thread, whip finish and cement
Target species: Halibut, rockfish, and largemouth bass

Habitat use: Kelp forests, small bays and rocky shoreline, mudflats, ponds, and lakes

Bait imitated: generic wounded baitfish attractor, also used as mud shrimp imitation

Inspiration: Jigs used around Monterey Bay and San Francisco Bay regions.
