Furled Mysis Shrimp

Hook: Wide-gape Scud design, 1X or 2X short shank, heavy wire or light wire, #8 (example: Daiichi 1120)
Thread: Match body color, #8/0 (examples include: tan, white, and olive)
Mouth/Antennae (optional): Deerhair, Krystal Flash Pearlescent
Body: Glo Bug Yarn, (examples include: Cream Delight, White, and Champagne)
Extended Abdomen: Furled Antron, (examples include: tan, white, gold, light brown, light green, red) approx 1 ½ hook lengths. You can combine two colors in the furling process: white/tan, white/green, gold/brown, brown/red, etc.
Optics: Monofilament nymph eyes, x-small, black
Carapace: Antron, accent color (examples include: light green, yellow, brown, etc)
Note #1: Simulates: Mysid Shrimp and Krill (Euphausia)

Habitats: Saltwater (estuaries, inshore, and open water)

These tiny crustaceans are found throughout the world. They are key food items for everything from whales to gamefish. I use them in particular to target saltwater salmon, sea-run cutthroat trout, and sea-run Dolly Varden.
