Hook: Kamasan B830. Size 6 to 12
Thread: Red Polyester Thread or Uni Thread 6/0 Red
Tail: Orange Organza Fibers
Rib: Silver Wire Fine
Body: Flat Silver Or Gold Maylar 3/16. # 12
Wing: A Strip of Muskrat Fur
Topping (optional): Bronze Flash

Tying instructions:

  1. Wrap shank from eye to start of bend with thread.

  2. Tie in tail material

  3. Tie in Rib Material.

  4. Tie in Mylar.

  5. Wrap shank with overlapping turns of Maylar and tie off just short of the eye.

  6. Tie in Muskrat Strip where Mylar ended near eye.

  7. Pull the Muskrat Strip back beyond the bend and Using A Dubbing Needle separate the fur at the point where the first wrap of silver wire will be made to secure the wing to the body.

  8. Take a second wrap of wire through the fur in the same manner, and repeat in a spaced spiral motion, until the tie off point is reached and the wing is securely fixed.

  9. Tie the wire off and build a neat head and Half Hitch. Using a needle clear any trapped fur from under the Rib on the far side of the fly.

  10. Whip finish and apply Head Cement.
