Scardy Cat

Fly: Jim Cramer, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Note: A bass fly with a different look. The tail and over body of this fly is formed in the same manner as the Vertical Worm except that deer hair is used. Insert and spread the deer hair in the loop evenly and clip the butt ends short before the initial spinning. Spin the deer hair body and clip to shape, then cut a groove down the top of the body from front to rear.

Tie in the tail at the rear and stretch the remainder into the groove and tie securely at the head. Install eyes.
