Jack Flash

Fly: Hans Weilenmann, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Grip 11001 #20-24 (or equivalent dry fly hook)
Thread: Benecchi 12/0, grey
Hackle: Whiting Grizzly saddle
Body: Peacock herl, single 'skinny' herl taken from the eye of the feather
Rib: Fine flat silver mylar
Vane/sighter: Rib material, folded back over body
Note: This is my variation on a classic Dutch pattern called the Jakobpattern. Both are close cousins to the popular Griffith's Gnat. The Jack Flash is meant to be fished in the film.
