Hook: 12 Mustad 9671 (or equivalent 2XL wet fly hook)
Thread: Black 6/0 or 8/0
Tail: Four fibers from tail of European cock pheasant
Rib: Fine gold round tinsel
Body: Amber seal's fur (or substitute)
Hackle: Mallard breast feather in front of (folded) bright orange hackle

The Gosling is a classic Irish lough pattern.
