Klinkhamer

Fly: Harald Weidler, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: any shrimp hook #10-12
Thread: UNI 6/0 black
Abdomen: Woven microchenille and floss in different colors. The bottom floss should be in lighter color
Wingpost: Poly yarn, white or cream
Thorax: Peacock herl
Hackle: Grizzly or badger in 5-8 turns, parachute style
Note: Nothing to say to this sucessful pattern which is already a classic one. Perfect to imitate an emerging insect. The trick is to fix the hackle paralell to the wing base with some tight thread wraps and then wind the hackle down. I like the bicolored look of the woven body, but it is also successful with a thin dubbed body (as per the original pattern by Hans van Klinken).
