Biot Emerger

Fly: Harald Weidler, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Tiemco 103Y #15-17
Thread: UNI 6/0 dark red
Tail: Partridge fibers
Abdomen: Biot olive fixed with Loctite
Wing: 3 CDC feathers natural or brown, tied in a loop, then tips pointing up&back
Thorax: CDC dubbing, dark red
Note: The logical alternative to the Biot Emerger. A lot of times fish become selective when a hatch is going on, then emerger patterns are much more effective. I like to fish them downstream and let them swing with the current at the end of the drift. It is amazing that you get many strikes when this fly is pulled under the surface.
