Notes: The dominant colour of Patagonian dragon flies is green, varying from blue-green to olive. They hatch mainly in January –the middle of summer, here. Trout gorge on the nymphs as they migrate towards he banks as they prepare to hatch, for this is when they’re at their most vulnerable. They tend to congregate thickly in shallow bays with beds of emergent reeds, where they use the reed stems to climb slowly out of he water prior to emergence. Adults also tend to inhabit the same reedy bays, specially while oviposting. Consequently, this is where the fly fisher will find the most action on both on the surface and on the bottom.
