| Thread: | Black or brown, 8/0 |
| Rib: | Very fine copper wire |
| Body hackle: | Brown, palmered |
| Body: | Fine brown dubbing or simply wrap the shank with brown thread |
| Wing: | Two slips of brown speckled hen or turkey, conclave side inward, canted backward |
| Legs: | Brown with 2 turns of badger in front |
These big mayflies come off all through December and when they do the trout will magically appear by the hundreds. Of course, they can just as magically disappear as soon as the mayflies stop hatching and before you can find the fly box that contains yours. |
