Hook: TMC 100, standard dry fly hook, size 12 - 10
Thread: Black or brown, 8/0
Rib: Very fine copper wire
Body hackle: Brown, palmered
Body: Fine brown dubbing or simply wrap the shank with brown thread
Wing: Two slips of brown speckled hen or turkey, conclave side inward, canted backward
Legs: Brown with 2 turns of badger in front

These big mayflies come off all through December and when they do the trout will magically appear by the hundreds. Of course, they can just as magically disappear as soon as the mayflies stop hatching and before you can find the fly box that contains yours.
