Dale Beamish

I began conventional fly tying over 25 years ago. Bob Mead started my obsession with the realistic side of fly-tying. After reading several of his articles in the early (black and white) issues of Fly Tyer magazine I became fascinated with his creativity and techniques used in constructing life-like flies. So Bob ..... I blame it all on you. Moreover, thank you.

I live in Calgary Alberta Canada with my wife and children, (Happily, she informs me) and our Toy Fox Terrier Tiny, who is both a trusted friend and convenient source of realistic mayfly tails.

Calgary is a stone throw from the Rocky Mountains as well as home to the Bow River, a world class fishery. Both provide excellent sources of inspiration and enjoyment.

I would like to thank Paul Whillock, Steve Thornton and again Bob Mead who have provided inspiration, guidance and support. They have all set the bar high. It will be a life long pursuit, to try to match their wisdom and skill. However, a pursuit I am pleased to be on.

I hope you enjoy the patterns.
