Yellow Sally

Fly: Bruce Salzburg, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: TMC 101
Thread: Light Cahill, 8/0
Tag: Red floss
Body: Greenish yellow synthetic dubbing
Wings: Deer hair
Hackle: Grizzly

My favorite dray fly for the little golden stone is still a Yellow Stimulator, but sometimes the fish are selective to ovipositing females. The red tag suggests the egg sack, and the lack of body hackle makes the red tag sit in the water.
