Red Humpy

Fly: Bruce Salzburg, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: TMC 100, 12-18
Thread: Red, 6/0
Tail: On smaller flies, use Coq de Leon. On larger, use deer hair
Abdomen/shellback: Underbody of tying thread, "hump" of deer hair
Wings: Tips of deer hair hump, propped upright and divided
Hackle: Furnace, two hackles used

Note: This is a high floating western attractor. It should be heavily hackled for the front one half to one third of the fly, depending on your own sense of proportion. I switch back and forth depending on the tail and wing length selected.
