Fly: Bruce Salzburg, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: TMC 2487, size 14-18
Thread: Light Cahill, 8/0
Trailing shuck: Brown antron yarn
Abdomen: Butts of the antron yarn, wrapped partially up the shank
Thorax: Dubbing to match the color of the dun, or tying thread
Wing: Light deer hair, tied Quiggly Cripple style
Hackle: Cream, three turns behind the wing and one or two in front

Note: You can also tie the rear half of this fly using pheasant tail fibers. Antron is more durable.
